TPO / PVC restoration
Thermoplastic that still holds a seam is a restoration, not a tear-off. Clean it, seal the laps and put a fluid-applied membrane over the whole field.
- No tear-offBuilding stays open
- Pr305Primer required under either topcoat
What happens to TPO and PVC
Thermoplastic membranes lose plasticizer and top-ply thickness as they age. The sheet chalks, goes brittle at the laps and starts to crack at the seams and around penetrations long before the field membrane fails.
That aging profile is what makes single-ply a good restoration candidate. The membrane is still a continuous, adhered substrate. A restoration system renews the weathering surface and the seams without touching the insulation or the deck.

A coating job when
- Seams and laps intact or repairable
- Insulation dry on a moisture scan
- Sheet adhered or fastened, no billowing
- Ponding water is the main complaint
Not a coating job when
- Wet insulation across more than a quarter of the roof
- Shrinkage pulling flashings off walls and curbs
- Membrane too thin to hold an adhesion pull test

The build-up, in order.
For roofs that pond or drain slowly. Pr305 goes down first, then Si750 over the primed sheet. For roofs with positive drainage where cool-roof reflectivity and cost per square matter most.
Clean & prep
Scrub with Pr325 cleaner diluted 1:4, keep it wet for 15 minutes, then power wash at 2,000 psi or more and rinse to clean water. Let it dry. Replace wet insulation flagged on the moisture scan. Pull-test a 2 × 2 ft patch before you order.
Prime
Pr305 blocks plasticizer migration on PVC and bonds aged TPO — 0.5 gal per 100 ft² on TPO, 1 gal per 100 ft² on PVC. Required under Si750 on TPO and PVC.

Liquid product, all steps723 gal
- Smooth surface: no texture allowance
- 10% overage on every liquid product
- Quantities rounded up to whole gallons, then to full containers
- Pr305 at 1 gal / 200 ft² — TDS rate for aged TPO
- Si790 at 1 gal / 60 lin ft of seam, 0.2 gal per penetration — rule of thumb
- Si750: 15.4 dry mils per gal / 100 ft² — TDS; 30 mils this coat
Rough estimate for planning. Actual coverage depends on surface porosity, texture, application method and verified mil thickness. Confirm with the TDS and your rep before ordering.
